Lely Resort’s established landscaping — mature trees, golf course plantings, and 30 years of community tree growth — produces moderate to significant gutter debris accumulation depending on the property’s position relative to large trees. Annual clearing in April or May before the June 1 hurricane season start keeps gutters functional through peak summer storm season.

Older gutters installed in the 1990s and early 2000s may have developed minor slope issues, joint separations, or partial blockages that reduce drainage efficiency even when the channel appears clear. We flow-test every downspout and gutter section after clearing and note any drainage anomalies in the service report — gutters that back up before they are physically full are often the result of slope changes from the original installation that have worsened over time.

Lely Resort is a seasonal community. A significant portion of homeowners are away May through October — the period that includes Florida’s most intense storm activity. Pre-departure gutter clearing before this period is the most efficient and protective maintenance approach. We handle gate access and service without the owner present, and send documentation and condition notes by email immediately after completion.
